2019-2020 Meeting Schedule

Society meetings are usually held on the first Saturday of the month except where there may be a holiday or during the Christmas/New Year holiday season. The society typically does not meet during the summer months although their may be community service projects available to members during the summer season. Our meetings are for current C.A.R. members in addition to prospective members. Friday-Sunday, February 21st-23rd , 2020 F.S.C.A.R. State Conference

Annual State Conference for current C.A.R. members across the state of Florida. Contact Senior Society President for details if interested in participating. 

Friday-Sunday, March 20th-22nd 2020 FSSDAR State Conference

C.A.R. members and Senior members from across the state are encouraged to attend the DAR State Conference to man the C.A.R. table, present gifts to the State Regent and have FUN at a special C.A.R. Social. Current C.A.R. members only. Please contact Senior Society President for location details. 

April 17th-19th 2020 N.S.C.A.R. National Convention

Please consult Senior Society President if interested in visiting and details will be provided. Must be current C.A.R. member. 

May TBA, 2020 Flags for Fallen Vets 

Meet us at Sarasota National Cemetery to place flags in front of the graves of the men and women who gave so much to our country. 

Friday-Saturday, June TBA, 2020 N.S.C.A.R. Southeastern Regional 

Meet the National Officers and chairmen visiting our state. Come have fun during the first Regional of the Summer C.A.R. Tour. The 2020 Southeastern Regional will be held in North Carolina. Contact Senior Society President for details. 

Sunday, July 5th, 2020 Liberty Litter Cleanup

Help us keep our beaches clean. After all the fun and fireworks join us in collecting all the rubbish left behind from the 4th. This initiative is part of the nationwide Keep America Beautiful / Keep Sarasota County Beautiful program.

Check out this great video 2018 Youth Genealogy Event presented by The ChiChi-Okobee Society Children of the American Revolution on Martin Luther King Day of Service, January 15, 2018. This event showed children and adults the power of learning about their family histories through research and networking. Held at the lovely Children's Garden in Sarasota, FL.  

2017 MLK Day of Service

On Monday, January 16, 2017 the ChiChi-Okobee Society N.S.C.A.R. hosted a Youth Genealogy Program as a service initiative to the community for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. This program was held at The Children's Garden and Art Center and made possible by a MLK Day of Service grant through SCF College.
