Society meetings are usually held on the first Saturday of the month except where there may be a holiday or during the Christmas/New Year holiday season. The society typically does not meet during the summer months although their may be community service projects available to members during the summer season. Our meetings are for current C.A.R. members in addition to prospective members. Monday, January 21st, 2019 MLK Day of Service Project
Instead of taking a day off for the MLK Jr. holiday we will make it a day on with our Youth Genealogy Program for the 3rd year in a row. Our theme for this year is "A Roots Revolution." Families with school aged children are welcome to visit this free half day event. This your opportunity to visit with members of our C.A.R. and others from the state of Florida. We will also be joined by lineage societies, local genealogical societies, children's book authors, artists and historical re-enactors. Hope to see you at our family fun filled function.

C.A.R. members and Senior members from across the state are encouraged to attend the DAR State Conference to man the C.A.R. table, present gifts to the State Regent and have FUN at a special C.A.R. Social. Current C.A.R. members only. Please contact Senior Society President for location details.

Meet us at Sarasota National Cemetery to place flags in front of the graves of the men and women who gave so much to our country.

Help us keep our beaches clean. After all the fun and fireworks join us in collecting all the rubbish left behind from the 4th. This initiative is part of the nationwide Keep America Beautiful / Keep Sarasota County Beautiful program.

Check out this great video 2018 Youth Genealogy Event presented by The ChiChi-Okobee Society Children of the American Revolution on Martin Luther King Day of Service, January 15, 2018. This event showed children and adults the power of learning about their family histories through research and networking. Held at the lovely Children's Garden in Sarasota, FL.
On Monday, January 16, 2017 the ChiChi-Okobee Society N.S.C.A.R. hosted a Youth Genealogy Program as a service initiative to the community for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. This program was held at The Children's Garden and Art Center and made possible by a MLK Day of Service grant through SCF College.
